Love Affair
I never thought I would say this … but I’ve fallen in love with seed stitch.
It hit me out of nowhere & I’m pleased that it did! I’ve been working on a small run of simple seed stitch cowls. I had ordered a few skeins of Madelinetosh — based on the beautiful colour variegations alone — & I couldn’t be happier with it. It’s wonderfully springy & it drapes so nicely! I want a skein in every colour.
I don’t believe I’ll be writing a pattern for these cowls, as there are so many similar ones out there. But, if you’re curious, I’ll tell you that it’s knit flat with a provisional cast on (28 sts, bulky yarn, 7mm needles) & seamed with kitchener stitch at the end. So simple! The seed stitch gives it great texture, & some density to keep the wind at bay.
I’ll post to let you all know when they’re ready in the shop!
xx

I know how you mean, I thought I hated seed stitch, but I’ve been doing it for Peaks Island Hood and loving it. I think the Mirasol Miski I’ve been using has helped, would work well for your cowls too, though it’s a slightly lighter weight yarn.
I hadn’t heard of Mirasol, but I looked it up now & it looks super soft!! I love alpaca. :D
The colors are beautiful, I love that green one.
