Photo Updates …
So … summer 2010 has been kind of a bust. I’ve refrained from writing here for several reasons: I haven’t been the happiest of people, these last few months; I’ve been disappointingly unproductive; & my energies are focused (whenever they are indeed focused) on finding employment. I’ve been out of a job for nearly the entire summer. I’ve been able to pay bills & afford food through an amazing amount of luck — small tax cheques from the government, & a spot on reality television (I’ll be sure to write about that a month from now, closer to its air date! Very exciting!).
I haven’t taken many photos at all, but here are a few!
The sad news first: around a month or so ago, Bradley got a job working on a cruise ship! He’s spending two weeks in Europe, two weeks in the Caribbean — & continuing those cycles for SIX MONTHS! I wish he were still here with me; he’s such a creative inspiration & he always knows how & when to get my butt in gear. After his six months are up … I honestly don’t know when I’m going to see him again. He’ll be going home to New Brunswick, & possibly jumping on another ship after that. I hope I get to see him sometime next year. I love him & miss him so much!
But speaking of boys I love, J took me to a hotel for a nice little vacation! (We took full advantage of not having to clean up after ourselves, let me tell you.) Those beds were so comfy!
The hotel was located sort of in the middle of nowhere, but we took some nice walks to get food. We swam in the pool, enjoyed a delicious buffet-style continental breakfast, & watched movies on J’s laptop. To be honest, we didn’t do much except lay around all day, with only ourselves for company — but that’s what made it so great!
My mother & stepdad, on the 20th anniversary of their relationship, got married on July 24th. It was a simple wedding at my grandpa’s house, but very beautiful! It went quite well, considering the rain. It was really lovely to see my cousins, & especially my grandpa, who I rarely see these days. I lived with him as a teenager, & I miss him very much!
That’s my oh-so-exciting summer, so far. I hope the autumn months will bring more creativity, more productivity, more/better photos & actual photoshoots, and some great entries here at Shipwrecks!
xx
